"Sounds" is written in large blue text on top of "Like..." in slightly smaller bluish-purple text, which is slanted horizontally to the right of it. Below that is, in black text, "Written by Joe Fallon" on top of "Storyboard by Gabriela Godoy" placed in a similar manner.

Condensed summary[]

Chirp searches for the most silent place for her bird song.

Expanded summary[]

The episode starts out by showing a close up of Peep. The camera zooms out to show Peep listening to three hummingbirds. Chirp appears and tells Peep, after the hummingbirds finish their song, that a bird flew by singing a beautiful song and that she has copied the song exactly. Chirp warms up to sing the song for Peep but she fails to sing the song correctly because of the hummingbird's humming. Chirp and Peep walk somewhere else and Chirp prepares again. Just as Chirp is about to sing, Quack sings instead from one of the pipes nearby. Peep then asks Quack if he wants to hear the most beautiful song, however, he says he says he would rather yell in the pipe.

Chirp and Peep go looking for another quiet place. The first place sounded peaceful, but has noisy wind chimes, the second was not quiet at all, since there is a loud hopping frog, and the third a beaver cutting a tree. Finally Chirp finds the perfect place on top of a hill. Chirp prepares and sings the song that is very short. Chirp decides to go home and Peep follows wearily. Instead of going home, the two birds discover a busy street full of cars and run off when a biker passes by them. They get more lost when they end up in a little yard with a boat rowing man display. Chirp begins to despair but then Peep alerts her to the sound of the beaver that they had heard when they were looking for a quiet place. The two run after the noise and then stop for they can't hear it. A tree falls down between Peep and Chirp, nearly hitting them and then after the two hear the hopping frog.

The two birds accidentally distracted the frog so that it misses the lily pad it intended to get on. The frog angrily tells them that they made him miss and disappears into the water before the birds can ask directions but soon, they hear the chimes and follow the sound. Near the chimes Peep and Chirp hear the Quack and hummingbirds so they run to meet them. Quack decides to rest his voice in the pipe and Peep rests with him. The episode ends with Peep sighing in annoyance when Chirp said that she should have remained in the pipes and sang.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time a road is shown, and the second time humans are shown. The first episode to show humans is Quack and the Very Big Rock. The second time the road is shown is in Peep Crosses the Road. However, this is the only episode to show cars driving on the road. This episode also implies that both Chirp and Peep know how dangerous roads are for them as seen by their reaction when they end up at a street and see a bunch of vehicles pass them.
  • This is the only episode where either of Beaver Boy's parents appear but he doesn't.
  • There is a game with about the same name as this episode.
  • Quack appears on the title card despite having a minor role in this episode.
